What is a Franchise Broker?

Thursday April 10, 2008

A franchise broker (also known as a franchise consultant) is an individual who acts as an intermediary between the franchisor and an individual interested in buying a franchise. The service is free to the potential franchisee, with the franchisor covering the consulting fees. Franchise brokers only get paid if their clients purchase a franchise.

Most franchise brokers represent hundreds of different franchises. They can help you to obtain financing and answer any questions you have about the franchise buying process. If you are new to franchising I suggest you find a local franchise broker to help you. Remember this service is free. If they ask for an upfront fee, walk away.

The two most popular franchise broker networks are the Franchise Alliance and Business Alliance
