Is McDonald's Recession Proof?

Wednesday April 23, 2008
Industry experts seem to think so. Dennis Lombardi, restaurant industry consultant with WD Partners, tells Nancy Lyons of MarketWatch, the McDonald's franchise is as close to recession-proof as you can get.

Dennis discusses McDonald's robust earnings for the first quarter of 2008. He does say that domestic sales are not as strong as international sales but McDonald's is continuing to focus on value and possibly lowering prices of certain items to stay more competitive. He also says "I can't think of a more conservative company to invest in during a recession."
