Franchising in Dubai

Thursday June 12, 2008
With Dubai’s superb beaches, exceptional shopping and exciting nightlife it was a natural transition for US franchise companies to expand to this hot spot. The official language of Dubai is Arabic, but most people in and out of the workplace communicate in English. Travel to Dubai has increased in the last few years and so has the amount of high-profile franchise companies -- Nathan’s Famous, Cold Stone Creamery and Figaro's Pizza just to name a few.

According to International Franchise, The California Pizza Kitchen has made an agreement with a Dubai-based company to open three California Pizza Kitchen restaurants within the next two years. Larry Flax, California Pizza Kitchen's co-Founder and co-CEO, said: "With over 30 million visitors in 2007 alone, this agreement allows us to bring our California-style pizzas to a new audience in not only the UAE, but to people from all over the globe."

So if you plan on visiting Dubai you may be able to enjoy eating at your favorite US franchise.

Readers may be interested to know that there are franchise businesses outside the food industry growing in the Middle East. Home Watch Caregivers is an international franchise opportunity also doing business in the Middle East. The business provides services that allow families to “maintain the comforts and securities of the home while receiving the care they need.” A link to their site is available here: http://gofranchise.com/franchise_usa_listing.cfm/GoFranchise/International-Franchises/subcat_id/50
