By Don Daszkowski, About.com

Have you ever neglected to get your car washed? There is no need to worry about this ever again. ProntoWash International is a unique car wash franchise that prides itself in offering a completely convenient experience. There is no more need to bring your car to the car wash. ProntoWash brings the car wash to you.

How Does It Work?

ProntoWash's goal is to maximize the customer's personal time and take advantage of the typical idle parking time at shopping malls, entertainment facilities and also the workplace. Each franchised location offers a premium hand carwash including an exterior wash, interior cleaning and a high-end detailing service. All of this is done while the customer is shopping or at their workplace.

ProntoWash offers three different investment opportunities: individual franchisee, multi-unit franchisee and master franchisee. An individual franchisee will own, operate and manage a staff of washers in one specific location, usually a busy shopping mall or corporate office parking lot. A multi-unit franchisee will own, operate and manage three individual franchises. A master franchisee is responsible for developing his territory and supporting the franchisees within his territory. A master franchisee is also responsible for selling franchises and offering ongoing support.

How Much Does a ProntoWash Franchise Cost?

The initial investment for an individual franchise depends on the size and location of the business. Since every ProntoWash location varies greatly in size, the initial investment ranges anywhere from $70,000 to $120,000.

Pros

  • Low expenses - Since there is no brick-and-mortar location, the overall expenses to run a ProntoWash franchise are relatively low.
  • Ability to open multiple locations - Individual franchisees are not required to be hands-on. This can allow them to become multi-unit franchisees and generate income from up to three locations.

Cons

  • Hesitation from customers - Since this is a very new concept, many people may be hesitant to hand over their keys while they are out shopping for a few hours.
  • Company is new to franchising - Although ProntoWash was established in 2001, it just started franchising in 2007. This franchise system is still in its early stages.
  • The concept may not work everywhere - This concept may not necessarily work well in all locations.
