A Look Inside the Canadian Franchise Association (CFA)

By Don Daszkowski, About.com

Who is the CFA?:

The CFA is the national voice of Canadian franchising. It represents over 350 franchise organizations and maintains a strong code of ethics.Any Canadian resident looking to explore franchise opportunities should make their first stop at the CFA’s franchise opportunities listing.

Why a CFA-endorsed Franchise?:

Franchise organizations are not required to become members of the CFA but it does give prospects an added level of assurance because of the Code of Ethics that holds these organizations to a higher standard otherwise required by the disclosure laws. Each member who joined the CFA underwent a membership review process.

CFA Trade Shows:

The CFA produces its own membership-based trade shows a few times each year across Canada. Trade shows are an excellent place to begin the search for a franchise opportunity that meets your lifestyle needs, interests, and budget.

You can visit and speak with representatives from each franchise company and learn about franchising from the seminars offered. CFA trade shows feature exclusively franchise opportunities – not business opportunities.
