The Chick-fil-A franchise, the chicken-themed restaurant chain that features cows wanting to direct people away from hamburgers by holding up signs saying "EAT MOR CHIKIN" now has an idea to, in their own words, "SAV MOR MONEE": Free breakfast.
Reservations for a free Chick-fil-A breakfast entrée, to be served between 6:30 and 10:30 AM from September 6 through September 10, can be made online at www.chick-fil-aforbreakfast.com. The available entrees are the chicken biscuit, the spicy chicken biscuit, the sausage biscuit, Chick-n-Minis, the sausage breakfast burrito and the multigrain oatmeal - an item they may be using to compete with the oatmeal items recently introduced by the McDonald's franchise and Wendy's franchise.
The response has already been overwhelming, as customers have reported difficulty with the website due to web traffic. Their free breakfast website currently states "We apologize, but we are experiencing momentary difficulty with the FREE Breakfast Entrée reservation system. Please check back soon or follow us on Twitter (@cfareservations) for updates."
Chick-fil-A may have to repeat this promotion in order to fulfill demand. Their cooking and service have proven far more effective than their spelling. Instead of "Nice work," it's "Nice food - if you can get it!"
